Why A Remake?

Alex M Zappier Art is a personal artist website that I use to conduct my business of selling custom art.  Initially I created the website to showcase my art.  I needed a quick and efficient way to show my art to potential clients and sell art that was already made. It was originally created on a template website to get something done quickly but now through research and my design experience I have come up with a modern and more user friendly way to achieve my web goals as an artist.

Competitive Analysis

In order to attract more people to my site I had to look into popular apps that were already out there and how they were able to grab the attention of their everyday users.

Persona

I also did research on the typical user that is on the web these days who would most likely be visiting my site.

Theme Board

While conducting my research I also gathered a few images, color swatches, and web elements that would give me the vibe that I was looking for on my new site.

User Flow

In order for my website to be successful, the user needed to easily be able complete the following three actions: ordering a custom drawing, purchasing art, contact the artist. To ensure that I kept the process simple and user friendly I mapped out the process in user flows that the website design was to follow.

Site Map

I used a an outline to help me determine the rest of flow of the new website.

The Lo-Fi Wireframes

The new structure fro my website has a minimalistic feel that truly emphasizes the art.  the Navigation is simple and easy to understand.  Nothing is hidden and everything can be accessed conveniently through the use of modals and fixed menus.  I even created a mobile version that simply stacks the images and elements of the design as the screen resizes.

The Mockup

Here is the final look for my new Artist's website.  This version is clean and refreshing.  The color palette is cool and modern while still taking inspiration from the images that inspire me as an artist. The minimalistic look mimics that of an art gallery and truly showcases the art and still giving the user a clear path to achieve what they came to do.  I am currently developing the website myself by hand and I expect it to be live shortly.  In the meantime, visit the holding page and subscribe to my email list at www.amz-art.com.  I will be sending out a notification of the launch of the new and improved site.
